The total area of the Western Airport Museum is 6,400 square meters. The cultural relics on display will be mainly cultural relics unearthed during the construction of Xi'an Airport; supplemented by relevant cultural relics excavated in the Hongduyuan area, the authentic ones will be displayed. "Hongduyuan is half of China's history", these cultural relics are not only witnesses of history, but also vivid records of the process of cultural relics protection and archaeological excavation in the construction of the airport. The Western Airport Museum consists of four parts: basic exhibition (Sifang Pavilion), special exhibition (Treasure Pavilion), temporary exhibition and cultural and creative flagship store.

The Sifang Pavilion is the core exhibition area of the museum, covering an area of 400 square meters. Its name is inspired by the diplomatic offices of the Sui and Tang dynasties, implying that it is a window to show the exchanges between ancient Chang'an and the world. The theme of the exhibition is "Chang'an Chang'an - Cultural Relics Excavated from Xi'an Xianyang International Airport and Ancient Chang'an", which connects thousands of years of history through 120 precious cultural relics.

The museum also has a treasure house of about 88 square meters, which carries out special displays and exhibitions for the key cultural relics of the Shaanxi cultural relics system. It adopts a rotating exhibition method, and selects one representative cultural relic of Shaanxi for special exhibition every six months.

This first exhibition introduced a national first-class cultural relic, a treasure of bronze ritual vessels from the Spring and Autumn Period - Qin Gong Bi. The inscription on this bronze ritual vessel records the history of the Qin State and is an important source of material for studying the Qin State during the Spring and Autumn Period.

In addition to the fixed Sifang Pavilion and Treasure Pavilion, the museum also has a temporary exhibition area, where various themed exhibitions are held from time to time. For example, the "Flowers Blooming, Fu Appearing" intangible cultural heritage exhibition showcases the production process of Xianyang Fu tea and the legend of the Silk Road; and the "Only in Chang'an, New Products" cultural and creative exhibition combines traditional culture with modern creativity. As an important transportation hub in the city, the airport is not only the starting point and end point of people's travel, but also the first window for foreign travelers to understand the city.
